How To Fully Clean A Virus Off Your Computer
If you are anything like I am, you have been infected by at least one virus and occasionally have a really hard time removing it. I will show you to remove these tough viruses without having to rebuild your computer or pay someone big money to do so.
Ok so you notice your computer is running very slow. You run your virus scan software and find one or more viruses. You clean them up and your computer still runs slow. You can’t figure out why so you run another scan and find out that the same virus is still on your computer. How does this happen?
Basically, there are viruses that will drop into protected system files or startup files that hide within your computer. Sometimes they cannot be removed without rebuilding your computer but there are a few ways around this.
First things first, get a computer toolkit ready to destroy the virus on multiple levels. I recommend a spybot scanner, adware scanner, and virus scan. Plus it always helps to have a strong registry cleaner. Once you have all of these tools ready to go, get them updated fully and download the latest versions of each if possible. After you have updated all of these tools DISCONNECT your internet connection from the computer.
It is essential to disconnect from the internet because most of the imbedded viruses will connect to their host site after the main piece is removed and will download and install itself again without you knowing. Run all of your scan utilities first and restart your computer after they have finished. Once the computer is started up, run the scans once more and restart if the virus is back. If you cannot remove the virus within three restarts, further action is required and will more than likely result in a rebuild.
If you remove it, run a registry clean to remove any leftover tag files. This will also help speed up your computer slightly. Refer to my article 5 Easy Tips To Keep Your Computer Running Smooth And Safe for more computer optimization tips. Restart once more and connect to the internet once more. You should run one more scan to verify the virus is gone. If it is we are ready to go. If it isn’t removed you will have to take a couple more steps.
Use your scan utilities to find out exactly where the files are located and remove them from the registry. Be warned that removing registry files can break your operating system.
How to wipe clean my computer to first day of use?
I have a dell inspiron from 2008. I’m getting ready to start college and i just have way to much stuff and error messages and from installing and unistalling games. i’m a gamer i love sims 3 but my computer always has an error with the displays and just blacks out and restarts my computer i think i need to upgrade my video card. What are to the best parts to Gamer’s level? Also how do i wipe my computer clean?
To wipe your computer clean, you’ll need the operating systems re-install disks. When you go to re-install the operating system, there’ll be an option to format the drive and start fresh. After re-installing, you’ll need to go to windows update site first thing and get all the security updates etc. (I always get a portion of the updates from there and then sign off the net and defragment the drive, then go back and get a few more; it helps settle them all in to the new operating system properly).
How to wipe a computer clean?
I have a dell desktop computer that when I turn it on it goes to a blue screen telling me it shut down for safety purposes. I’ve tried safe mode, restart from previous working time, everything, but it will not go past the blue screen. What can I do to wipe it clean? I don’t think have the disk. Someone said there is a code you press while it’s starting up. any help please?
I will give the step by step procedure to do Dell factory defaults:
Windows XP:
CTRL and F11 key simultaneously when you see the dell logo after turning on the computer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Power the computer on.
When the Dell screen appears press and hold the CTRL and F11 key simultaneously on the keyboard, then release them both at the same time.
The Dell PC Restore by Symantec window appears.
Click the Restore button or press the key to highlight Restore and press the key.
A caution message appears advising that all data will be lost.
Click the Confirm button or press the key to highlight Confirm and press the key.
The Progress window appears. Once the process is begun, Dell PC Restore usually takes only 8 to 10 minutes to complete.
When the restore is complete, the message The system recovery process was successful appears.
Click the Finish button or press the key to highlight Finish and press the key.
The computer will restart.
Windows VISTA / Win 7:
Tap the F8 key when you see the dell logo. It will take you to advanced boot menu options under which you will see Repair your Computer, Select that option and enter your password if it asked, then you will be seeing a list of options like system restore, command prompt, etc., In that the last option says Dell PC restore or something like that. Select that option and follow the on-screen instructions.
Start the computer.
As the computer starts, press the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.
Press the (Down Arrow) to select Repair Your Computer on the Advanced Boot Options menu, and then press Enter.
Specify the language settings that you want, and then click Next.
Log in as a user who has administrative credentials, and then click OK.
Click Dell Factory Image Restore.
In the Dell Factory Image Restore window, click Next.
Click to select the check box for Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition.
Click Next. The computer is restored to the default factory configuration.
When the restore operation is completed, click Finish to restart the computer.
** If in both case, the Factory default didn’t work, then your laptop’s factory image defaults partition have vanished (i.e. Corrupted / Deleted). So you have to do Operating System re installation with the Operating System CD / DVD **

Use the operation system or recovery disc that came with your computer when you bought it. Back up any important files on your computer by either putting them on an external drive (flash drive, ipod, etc.) or burning them to a disc. Then pop in the disc and when it boots up it should say press any key to boot from cd. Press a button, wait for it to load, then follow the directions on the screen to reinstall the OS clean.

Hi,
before you “wipe it clean” please try doing this, download and run CCLeaner this will safely delete all your temp files etc for you then reboot back into safe mode again (press F8 as it boots up) and defrag your hard drive, i think your system is full of rubbish and just needs a good cleanup so windows can then work correctly again. hope this helps you (and get me the 10 points please).

how do you wipe you computer clean and start fresh?
I think my computer is messed up it runs really slow and it keeps asking to allow some bs it is driving me crazy I can’t do anything on it and when I want to leave a site it deletes everything and I have to start all over! My computer was in storage for 9 months and I think the heat messed it up so I would like to wipe it clean and start fresh I have the cd to reboot it but I don’t know how to do it I am not very computer friendly either!
1) as the other user said, you might boot from your restore media, and install windows again(first the windows cd and then the drivers).
before doing anything, format your partitions if you want to.
(fat32 or ntfs file format)
then, after setting up your network and securing it, you might want to update your windows and drivers.
then install a firewall, an av, and a program that is compatible with your av, that would do things like check your system, save backups, clean your disk, repair your registry, clean your caches and stuff.
i have zone alarm security suite and iolo system mechanic, they run together with no conflict and really keep my 4 years-old laptop in pretty good shape. it is even better than when i bought it.
and definitely, do your own stuff don’t let others do it because when you face a problem you’ll have to call those who helped you before to help you out again. there is no way for you to know about your computer if you let others do it.
by the way, this order of setups as i told you is very important. it will save you a lot of time if you do it in this order.
2) you might as well restore your computer to a previous checkpoint. there might be one that your computer has saved that is preferable. but that wouldn’t pep up your computer as a new installation of the operating system
–How to do it:
1. Back up your system
2. Save the backup in the partition where there is no operating system installed(in general the D partition). you might as well save it in an external hdd
3. Insert your reboot cd.
4.Restart your computer
5. Normally when you restart your computer if you see the bios screen then you can just wait. But if you don’t see anything and your computer immediately proceeds to initiate the operating system(when you see windows logo with the progress bar starting for instance), then right after restarting your computer, when it shuts down and turns on again, press esc repeatedly until a the reboot option screen is seen. (the key you have to keep pressing may be f5 or f2 or some other f- key, depending on your pc or laptop)
6. When you see the options select reboot from cd(the second option among two) by using the “down” arrow.
7.Press enter
From then on the computer will lead you.
By the way, make sure you have the dirvers cd. if you don’t have the driver cd’s, you can download them from your computer vendor’s website. But you may have to save them into a cd in iso format cause it will ask you for a cd.
